  1. Programming in Inspire 2017

Greetings, I'm thinking about optimizing a 3D-truss structure by Inspire 2017 7305. And I would like to know whether it is possible to program the property of materials. I'd like to design a part of the structure as a tension wire. So, I'd like to define its compression stiffness as zero, and its tension stiffness as non-zero. If it is not possible, I would appreciate if anyone can tell me how to do that (though it may be beyond the scope of this website).
  2. Setting of Weighting function

Greetings, I have a basic question about the optimization in Inspire 2017 7305. It is possible to maximize the stiffness as well as the natural frequency of structures in Inspire, but how can I decide the weighting function of these two objective functions? In general, in such multi-objective optimizations, I think it is necessary to adjust a weighting function. Maybe it is performed automatically by Inspire, but how is it done? On which is focused more - maximization of stiffness, or maximization of natural frequency? Thanks in advance.
  3. Optimization Error

I posted this topic on wrong place (FAQs), so let me post this again here (General Discussion). Error message appears and says "Loads or supports are inappropriate", but I cannot find any problem with my settings. I'd like to know what is wrong with my settings of loads or supports. Thank you. model0817_2.stmod
  4. Hi, I want to run optimization so I'll set the target\constraint center of gravity place. Thanks in advance, Yosef
  5. Failed optimization

When I run analyze and view my results the colors do not show. Additionally when I run an optimization the result is a bunch of lines coming out form the part like a star. Am I doing something wrong when setting it up? Or is there something else that could be causing this failure? Thanks in advance! Jamie
  6. Failed Optimization (again!)

Hello SolidThinking community, Could someone please point out what I'm doing wrong, or advise a better way of setting my part up for optimization? My part pivots around a shaft near the top such that, it can swing down to contact a vertical wall. I am unsure how to "fix" the wall in all directions. Currently I am using small displacement constraints set to 10e-6. I have set the contact between the wall and part as "contact", and the contact between the shaft and part as "bonded". The contact along the top surface, where the pressure is applied, is "bonded" with the part. The optimization fails every time.. Any help would be great appreciated. Cheers!
  7. Overlap of Surfaces

Hi, I am new to inspire and when I set up the model and try to run the optimization, I see an error "overlap of surfaces in the body7, please check". I checked for overlap of surfaces in SolidWorks and Fusion. The geometry seemed perfect without errors. I don't know why this error shows up in Inspire. Can anyone help me solve this problem? Thank you very much for your time and help. Regards Siva.
